Bungie Unveils Details of Destiny 2: The Final Shape
Expanded Release Date and Retirement of Windows Support
Bungie has announced an extended release date for Destiny 2: The Final Shape, alongside the end of support for Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 8.1 operating systems.
The Final Shape's Arrival
The Final Shape, the highly anticipated conclusion to Destiny 2's current saga, was originally slated for release in 2023. However, in a recent blog post, Bungie revealed that the game requires more development time to meet their expectations. The official release date is now set for June 4, 2024.
Windows Support Discontinuation
Effective from June 4, 2024, Destiny 2 will cease support for Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 8.1 operating systems. This move aligns with Microsoft's decision to end support for these outdated systems. Players running unsupported systems will no longer receive updates, security patches, or access to the game.
Raid Launch
Bungie also provided an update on The Final Shape's raid launch. The raid will go live on Friday, June 7, 2024, at 1:00 PM UTC. Players will need to be Power Level 1700 to participate in the raid.
