Sandra Mikolaschek has reached the semi-finals of the women's individual table tennis competition at the 2022 Paralympics in Tokyo.
The German beat Viktoriia Safonova of Ukraine 3-0 in the quarter-finals to book her place in the last four.
Mikolaschek, who is ranked world number two, will now face Chinese Yujia Liu in the semi-finals.
- Mikolaschek is a four-time Paralympic medallist.
- She won gold in the women's individual Class 8 event at the 2016 Paralympics in Rio.
- She also won silver in the women's team Class 6-8 event at the 2012 Paralympics in London.
Mikolaschek's victory is a major boost for the German team, who are hoping to win multiple medals in table tennis at the Paralympics.
The semi-finals of the women's individual table tennis competition will be held on Friday, August 27.
